Our Mission
At Cross Creek, we strive to worship God and be transformed through a relationship with Him! We want others to join us as we experience God as a church and individually in our everyday lives. As a church, we believe the greatest need in all of our lives is to have a relationship with Jesus Christ.
We want to help you and your family grow in the Lord through relevant Bible based worship. We believe that the Bible is God’s unchanging Word and that its message is relevant and life changing today. Because we believe this, our teaching, preaching, music, and worship is firmly rooted in the Word of God.
Why We Are Here
Worship is the utmost calling of the church. At Cross Creek, the worship of God is fundamental to our purpose and our ministry. When we gather together for worship we are glorifying God for who He is, for what He has done and is doing in the lives of His people. Worship is a response to God revealing himself to us. As we meet, God reveals himself through His Word as we sing, preach, teach, and read the Bible together. Worship happens when we respond to Him, not just with singing or listening, but with our whole lives. Join us as we celebrate our awesome Lord!
Service is the action of our worship. At Cross Creek, we believe that every member of the body of Christ has unique gifts and talents given to them, by God, to serve Christ, the church, and the community. We want to provide an opportunity for everyone to serve and work, but also to fellowship and have a place in this local body.
As a church we desperately desire to grow in the Lord and would love for you to join us on our journey. Some ways you can get involved include:

We believe in three types of growth:
Individual (1 Peter 2:2) – We encourage believers to know God through Bible study and prayer and to grow in their knowledge and love of Him. We seek to provide and train each believer to spend time with God and lead their family knowing God.
Corporate (Hebrews 10:24-25; Proverbs 27:17)- We seek grow the corporate church through Bible-centered preaching and teaching. Specifically, we have a variety of ways in which new and old Christians can grow: Sunday School Classes, Wednesday Night Studies, Women’s Bible Studies, Men’s Power Hour, and Discipleship Groups!
Evangelistic (Matthew 28:16-20)- We seek to grow the global church through evangelism by taking seriously the joy and charge of the Great Commission to go and make disciples of all people in.
The Christian life was not meant to be lived alone. At Cross Creek, we stress fellowship among believers and the importance of community in our lives. Our fellowship exists as a way to build each other up, to encourage, to strengthen, to hold each other accountable as part of a unified body!
Our History
For 20 years, Cross Creek Church has been involved in reaching our community, our country, and our world with the gospel of Jesus Christ. The church began as a home mission church project in the late 1980’s. The “Southaven Project” which became Cross Creek Free Will Baptist Church, started as a vision of the Mississippi Free Will Baptist Mission Board in 1988. Rev. J.L. Gore became the missionary for the new church plant in 1989. Site preparation was immediately begun on the property. A weekly service was conducted in the home of Herman and Barbara Redwine while constructing the building.
Cross Creek officially began the second Sunday in March of 1991, with 13 members joining the church that day. The building, landscaping, and furnishings were completely finished and were presented to the church debt free. In March of 1996, Randall Memorial Free Will Baptist Church voted to merge with Cross Creek. Randall’s property was sold, and an educational annex was constructed at Cross Creek. This annex would be the Randall Christian Academy, which switched locations to Olive Branch after the merger. The name of the academy was later changed to Cross Creek Christian Academy to reflect its new location. The founding Pastor, J.L. Gore would resign from his position to take a position with the Mississippi Free Will Baptists. Following him, were Pastors Cliff Holland, Kent Nelson, and current Pastor, Paul Bryant.
